Welcome to all my pupils!
This is the site where I can tell you important things like term dates, dates of concerts, festivals and exams, and of course, where you can read about past events.
You can also find a wealth of useful goodies on the Resources page.

Term datesTerm 4: 19 February - 28 March (6 weeks for everybody except Friday pupils) Term 5 22 April - 10 May (3 weeks) But happy to teach during school half term instead (27 - 31 May) I'm starting and breaking up earlier than the schools, I know, but that's because I'll be going first on a music course and then on holiday. I apologise for my bad planning in this. Term 6 3 June - 19 July (7 weeks) |
General information
I am a fully qualified teacher of piano and music theory with many years' experience. I have two teaching diplomas - LRAM and LGSM. I teach all styles of piano playing, and people for whom it is appropriate can take examinations. Although I do visit two schools as a peripatetic teacher, most of my students have their lessons at my home; I do not do home visits because it would take up so much more time and would be more costly. I feel I can give the best value when teaching at home, where all my resources are present. Although I love teaching absolutely anybody of any age, at any level, I have a special interest in teaching those who don't necessarily learn in the same way as most people do. This includes people with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, Downs...
The cost of lessons is £17 per half hour, £34 per hour. This is payable by bank transfer, cheque or cash one term in advance. In the case of missed lessons, I will try to make up the time but if this is not possible I will give a refund if I was responsible for cancelling the lesson, or if the cause of cancellation was pupil sickness. In the case of a pupil cancelling for other reasons and giving less than 48 hours notice, then the lesson and fee will be forfeited.
