Many congratulations to Leo (Grade 2), Miriam (Grade 2), Samuel (Grade 3), Kyle (Grade 3) and Marion (Grade 4) on their good examination results.
Many students entered Maidstone Music Festival this year, and, under the adjudication of Jena Pang, everyone had a great time and left the festival clutching their certificates and adjudication papers. Some even walked out clutching medals!
Although I couldn't be in to hear everyone's performance, I do know that everyone played well and I'm really proud of you all. Here's to next year! Also, congratulations to Charlie, Justin and Joanne who all played in the Festival Highlights Concert the following weekend. As usual, this was a lovely relaxed concert, with a huge range of performances, both solo and ensemble. For several people, this was their first concert and I'd just like to say how proud of everyone I was.
It was a very hot day, but somehow we all managed to stay comfortable and there really was some excellent playing. Thanks to those who brought along a cake or biscuits to help out with the social time afterwards. Congratulations to Grace (Grade 5 practical) and Charlie (Grade 5 theory) for their excellent exam results this term.
Congratulations to Rose, Charlie and Grace, all of whom performed at Sevenoaks during the June festival. The adjudicator was Graeme Humphrey, who made very favourable comments about all three performers. Well done, all of you.
Many congratulations to Justin (Grade 6) and Leigh (Grade 8), both of whom got Distinction in their exams this term.
This took place in Tonbridge School during the February half term. As ever, it was great fun and a wonderful way to learn, gain confidence, and make friends all at once. Great that Ella came along and took part, performing in 2 of the concerts.
It would be lovely if more of my students could take part in the course next year. It does cost around £200, but for a 3-day course, including wonderful teaching from carefully-picked tutors, a chance to meet and hear 2 world-class pianists, 3 concerts, and competitions, it's actually wonderful value. And lunch is included! Watch this space (and my emails) for details of next year's KIPC as soon as they are available. This took place in the home of Nancy Litten, in Maidstone. The adjudicator was Nadia Lasserson. It was well attended, and a most enjoyable afternoon. Congratulations to Ella, who played very well and earned a medal for her class.
Many congratulations to Lucy (G7), Jenny (G6), Holly (G6), Emilia (G5), Alex (G4), Suzanna (G2), Melissa (G2), Stephanie (G1) and Sophie(G1) for passing their exams. You were all brilliant - well done! And thank you all for being so patient, too, when the results took so long to be released.
We had a lovely pupils' concert in Barming school on December 10. It lasted about an hour, with cakes and a great social time afterwards. Many thanks to all who attended, either as performers or as audience.
